Ingredients

  • 8 medium potato (s)
  • 2 onion (s) cut into rings
  • 6 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • some sugar
  • 1 bell pepper (s), yellow, finely chopped
  • 1 chilli pepper (s), mild, finely chopped
  • 2 clove (s) garlic, finely chopped
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • 125 ml whipped cream
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 chilli pepper (s), hot, cut into thin strips
  • 2 teaspoons green pepper
  • 10 olives, black
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly Tabasco

Instructions

  1. Place the onion rings in a shallow bowl or in a soup plate. Mix together the lemon juice, chilli powder, salt and a little sugar and pour over the onions. Marinate the onions in it for 30 minutes.
  2. Peel the potatoes and cook them in plenty of salted water for 20 minutes. Drain the potatoes and place in a preheated bowl.
  3. In the meantime put the cream cheese, the cream, the bell pepper, the finely chopped chilli pepper, the garlic and the turmeric in a small saucepan and puree well with the blender. Mix in the green pepper and heat the sauce but do not let it boil, stirring again and again. Season the sauce with salt, pepper and possibly Tabasco to taste.
  4. Pour the sauce over the potatoes. Spread the chilli pepper cut into strips over it, as well as the olives. Take the onions out of the marinade and spread over them as well.
  5. This side dish goes well with steaks or grilled meat.
