Potatoes with Mushrooms Baked with Cheese

A recipe that will tell you how to cook potatoes with mushrooms and cheese in the oven. This mushroom potato dish is delicious thanks to the delicate milk sauce.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 1 kg
  • Champignon mushrooms – 500 g
  • Cheddar cheese – 200 g
  • Flour – 2 tbsp
  • Milk – 3 glasses
  • Garlic – 3 cloves
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Dried thyme – 1 teaspoon
  • Pepper to taste
  • Butter – for lubrication

Directions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoon in a skillet. l. flour until an orange hue appears.
  2. Adding milk in small quantities and stirring constantly intensively, mix the flour with the milk so that no lumps remain
  3. The sauce should not be very liquid. Add thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix. Squeeze the garlic into the sauce. Dice the onion.
  4. Add the chopped onion to the sauce. Stir and cook the sauce over low heat for about 5 minutes. Cut the potatoes with a knife or shredder into thin plates.
  5. Grease the bottom of the baking dish with butter. Spread half of the potatoes over the bottom of the mold. Cut the mushrooms into thin slices.
  6. Place the mushrooms on top of the potatoes. Pour half of the sauce and spread over the mushrooms. Place the other half of the potatoes on top. Brush the remaining half of the sauce on top.
  7. Preheat oven to 190 degrees. Bake potatoes with mushrooms in the oven for about 45 minutes. Grate cheese on a coarse grater.
  8. Remove the potatoes with mushrooms from the oven. Sprinkle cheese on top. Bake potatoes with mushrooms and cheese in the oven for another 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly and serve.
