Ingredients

  • 400 g pork schnitzel
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • some gyros spice
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ thyme, dried
  • a bit salt
  • 200 g feta cheese
  • 0.5 ½ vegetable onion (s)
  • 2 roll (s) puff pastry
  • some flour
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 50 g feta cheese
  • sesame

Instructions

  1. Cut the schnitzel into fine strips. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the meat in it. Finally fry the diced garlic. Season with gyros, thyme and salt.
  2. Dice the feta cheese. Cut the onion into fine strips and mix with the meat together with the feta. Let cool down.
  3. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 6 squares each. Separate the egg. Brush the edges of the pastry with egg white. Spread the gyros on top. Fold the dough squares together into corners and press down a little. Place on 2 baking sheets lined with baking paper.
  4. Whisk the egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of water. Brush the pockets with it. Crumble the feta cheese and sprinkle over the pockets together with the sesame seeds. Bake for about 20-25 minutes.
  5. The bags taste cold or warm. You can warm them up in the microwave. A mixed or Greek salad goes well with it.
