Ingredients

  • 1 ½ kg pumpkin meat
  • 4 onion (s), diced
  • 200 g suar
  • 3 lemon (s), add the juice
  • 2 tablespoon salt
  • 3 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 bunch sage
  • 250 ml vinegar (white wine vinegar 5%)

Instructions

  1. Cut the pumpkin flesh into pieces and bring to the boil with lemon juice, vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard seeds, diced onion and squeezed garlic clove, stirring constantly. Reduce with mild heat until the liquid has almost evaporated.
  2. Roughly chop the sage, add and cook for 10 minutes while stirring. Pour the chutney full to the brim in glasses and close them immediately.
