Instructions

  1. For the dough, mix flour with baking powder, sift into a mixing bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and first work through with the hand mixer (dough hook), then knead into a dough with your hands. Then wrap in foil and keep cool for 30 minutes.
  2. Roll out almost half of the dough thinly. For the top, cut out a sheet of dough the size of a baking sheet (30 x 40 cm) and roll it up on baking paper using a rolling pin. Roll out the remaining dough on the greased baking sheet.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C.
  4. For the filling, spread the applesauce with raisins on the base and roll the pastry on top.
  5. Beat egg yolks with milk to brush. Brush the dough with it and sprinkle with the almonds. Prick the pastry cover several times with a fork. Put the baking sheet in the oven.
  6. Baking time: 20-25 minutes.
  7. Place the baking sheet on a wire rack and let the cake cool down.
  8. Tip:
  9. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top of the applesauce, or even better: Arabic coffee spice.
