Ingredients

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 250 g rice
  • 1 onion (s)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 4 tomato (s), cut into pieces
  • 1 red pepper (s), cut into pieces
  • some tomato ketchup
  • some ketchup, spicy (e.g. Mexican salsa)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • chili
  • Herbs, fresh or frozen
  • water

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice for about 10 minutes until al dente. Peel and dice the onion and garlic and add to the minced meat. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Add rice to the meat and mix well. Then form balls out of it (will be about 24 pieces) and fry a little in hot oil. Then place the balls in a saucepan and fill the saucepan with enough water so that the dumplings are not completely covered. Now add the tomato and pepper pieces, ketchup, oil and herbs. Season everything again with salt, pepper and chilli. Bring to the boil briefly and then simmer on low heat for approx. 35 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. We always have the dumplings with mashed potatoes.
