Instructions

  1. Fry cashew nuts and raisins in hot ghee (it also works with hot, melted butter). Add all the spices and lightly roast. Add the onion cubes and the garlic cloves and fry until translucent. Pour in 3 cups of water, add the rice and season with a little salt. Bring to the boil and let the rice soak out over a very low flame.
  2. I got this recipe from an Indian woman and we love it. We prefer to eat it as a main meal without anything to go with it.
  3. I like to add more cashew nuts and raisins than stated in the recipe.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
