Instructions

  1. Take a mason jar and clean it carefully. Cut the kumquats into slices and halves (lengthways). Layer the fruit on the edge of the glass (because of the optics) and fill up with the rock candy.
  2. We let the rum flow into the gaps, add a dash of orange aroma (or Grand-Marnier) and then seal the glass airtight. Let it rest for at least four weeks or more.
  3. Put 1 - 2 teaspoons of the rock candy or (if the dissolution process has progressed far enough) the viscous sugar solution in hot tea and stir.
  4. The kumquats give a delicious aroma, but can also be enjoyed in between meals.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
