  • Celery root – 360 g
  • Salted herring (fillet) – 200 g
  • Red onion – 140 g
  • Pickled cucumbers – 100 g
  • Mayonnaise – 80 g
  • Mustard – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

  1. Peel the celery root. Wash. Dip the celery into a saucepan and cover with cold water. Put on fire and bring to a boil. Cook for 15-20 minutes, until the tubers are soft. Cooking time depends on the size. Remove the finished celery root from boiling water and cool.
  2. Meanwhile, blot pickles with a pickle napkin. Cut the cucumbers into quarters.
  3. Peel and wash the red onions. Cut in half. Cut into thin half-rings.
  4. Cut the herring fillet into small cubes.
  5. Grate the cooled celery on a coarse grater.
  6. Transfer all prepared ingredients to a suitable salad bowl.
  7. For the sauce, mix any fat content mayonnaise with mustard.
  8. Add the sauce to the salad bowl. Pepper and salt if necessary. Stir.
