Instructions

  1. First the onions are cut into small cubes, the tomatoes are washed, cut in half and the stalk removed. Then they are also cut into small cubes. The chilli - or if you prefer it hotter, more - is pitted and cut into fine pieces. The garlic clove is peeled and also finely diced.
  2. You put some oil in a saucepan and sweat onion and garlic in it. The tomato paste is briefly roasted and then the tomato cubes and the chilli are added. Add the tomato ketchup and lemon juice. The whole thing is cooked at a low temperature for about 1 hour.
  3. The salsa is seasoned with paprika powder, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper from the mill and a good tablespoon of honey is added.
  4. When it has cooled down, add the herbs and mix them again.
  5. The salsa tastes wonderful with nachos on a cozy evening in front of the TV.
