Ingredients

  • 1 kg black salsify (s)
  • 1 liter vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 100 g cheese, rated (e.. Pikantje)

Instructions

  1. Peel salsify and cut into pieces. Put them in vinegar water so they don`t turn brown. Then cook in the broth with sugar, salt, pepper and nutmeg for about 25 minutes. Take out (the broth can be used for soup!) And fry until golden in melting butter. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
  2. This goes well with mashed potatoes.
