Salted Mackerel

You can certainly buy ready-made, but you will not buy such mackerel. According to this recipe, you get just a gorgeous salted mackerel.

Ingredients

  • Mackerel – 1-2 pcs.
  • For brine (for 1 liter of water):
  • Coarse table salt – 3-4 tbsp
  • Sugar – 0.5-1 tbsp
  • Bay leaf – 1-2 pcs.
  • Black peppercorns – 4-5 pcs.
  • Allspice peas – 1-2 pcs.
  • Cloves (optional) – 1-2 pcs.

Directions

  1. The ingredients for the preparation of lightly salted mackerel are in front of you.
  2. Process the carcass of mackerel – take out the gills, gut, paying special attention to the black film near the abdomen. Clean well and wash in cold water.
  3. Make a pickle. For a liter of water –
    3-4 tablespoon. l, salt + 1 tbsp sugar + spices and bring everything to a boil. Cool the brine to room temperature. Place fish in brine for 12 hours. Can be refrigerated.
  4. Our salted mackerel is ready. Cut. Put in a dish. It is good to serve lightly salted mackerel with hot potatoes.
