Sandwiches “Herring on a fur coat” are prepared from simple and affordable products. Rye bread, boiled beets, and potatoes, pickles, and herring are a win-win combination!
Ingredients
Lightly salted herring – 370 g
Rye bread – 300 g
Potatoes – 350 g
Beets – 300 g
Pickled cucumbers – 200 g
Sour cream – 50 ml
Fresh dill – 10 g
Salt to taste
Directions
We prepare the necessary products. From the specified number of products, about 14 sandwiches are obtained.
Wash the beets and boil in the peel until tender (about 60 minutes). We take out the beets from the broth and let them cool completely.
Wash the potatoes and boil them in a peel until tender (20-30 minutes). We take out the potatoes from the broth and cool them.
We cut the herring into fillets. To do this, we cut off the head, fins, and tail of the fish, take out the insides and ridge.
We cut the carcass lengthwise into two parts. Then we remove the skin.
Cut the herring into pieces approximately 2-2.5 cm thick.
Cut off the crust from the bread. Cut the pulp into small pieces.
Cut pickled cucumbers into slices.
Clean the cooled beets and rub on a medium grater.
Add sour cream to the beets.
Mix the beets with sour cream and salt to taste.
Peel the potatoes and cut them into slices or semicircles.
Put several slices of potatoes on a piece of bread.
Put a layer of beets with sour cream on the potatoes.
Put 1-2 cucumber circles on the beets.
Put a little dill and a piece of herring on top.
