Scallops and Shrimps with Spicy Sauce

The scallop is one of the finest seafood delicacies. The combination of this tender meat with vegetables creates a delicious taste. Not a single gourmet will remain indifferent to this delicacy.

Ingredients

  • Olive or other vegetable oil – ¼ cup + 3 tbsp
  • White wine vinegar – ¼ cup
  • Salt – 1 ½ teaspoon
  • Dry tarragon – 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Hot pepper sauce – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper – 1/8 teaspoon.
  • Shrimp (large) – 500 g
  • Scallop – 500 g
  • Chicory (medium) – 3 onions
  • Chopped parsley – ¼ cup
  • Arugula and red onion (optional)

Directions

  1. Prepare the sauce: in a large bowl, combine ¼ cups of oil, salt, vinegar, tarragon, sugar, hot pepper sauce, and black pepper. Set the sauce aside. Remove the shell of the shrimp and rinse under running water. Rinse the scallop, remove the veins and all possible contamination. Dry the seafood with a paper towel. Cut the scallops horizontally into pieces.
  2. In a deep skillet, heat the remaining 3 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Pour seafood into the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. In a bowl, combine seafood with sauce. Cover with cling film and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  3. And just before serving, add chicory and parsley to the seafood. Mix well. Serve with arugula and red onion (optional).
