Ingredients

  • 125 g butter, soft
  • 110 g suar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 3 egg (s)
  • 2 drops flavor, (lemon essential oil)
  • 200 g flour
  • 2 teaspoons, leveled baking powder
  • 2 Table spoons milk
  • 1 kg apples (sour, e.g. Gravensteiner)
  • 20 g butter, melt
  • 2 tablespoon apricot jam
  • 1 tablespoon calvados OR
  • 3 tablespoon almond flakes and
  • 2 tablespoon cinnamon - sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare a batter from the ingredients butter to milk.
  2. Pour the dough into the greased springform pan (28 cm) and smooth it out.
  3. Peel, quarter and core the apples and cut lengthways several times (do not cut through!). Then press the apple quarters tightly into the dough in a wreath shape and brush with melted butter.
  4. Bake the cake at 170 ° C on the 2nd rack from the bottom for about 45 minutes.
  5. Bring the apricot jam with the calvados or water to the boil in a small saucepan and brush the cake with it while it is still hot (apricot).
  6. As an alternative to apricot, sprinkle almond flakes on the cake before baking and cinnamon sugar immediately after baking.
