Recipe for an appetizer pancake cake stuffed with herring pate.
Ingredients
Thin pancakes – 10-11 pcs.
Salted herring (fillet) – 250 g
Bulb onions (large) – 1 pc.
Carrots (large) – 1 pc
Eggs – 2 pcs.
Cream cheese – 140 g
Sour cream 20% – 1-2 tbsp
Vegetable oil – for frying onions
Parsley (for garnish, optional) – 1 sprig
Directions
Prepare the ingredients for making herring pate pancake snack.
The snack cake pancakes should be thin. I made pancakes with milk (see the recipe on the link in the list of ingredients).
Boil eggs hard-boiled, that is, after boiling water, cook for exactly 10 minutes. Then pour cold water over the eggs, cool and peel. Boil the carrots for 20-30 minutes. Test the willingness by piercing the carrot with a sharp knife – it should be soft. Cool and peel the carrots.
Peel the onion, cut into cubes and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown.
Put the fried onions and herring fillets in a blender bowl. Grind.
Cut the boiled carrots into large pieces and add to the blender bowl.
Grind the herring together with the carrots until smooth.
Transfer the herring pate to a bowl. Grate eggs on a fine grater and add to a bowl too.
Add cream cheese and sour cream. Mix well. You should get a soft mass that will easily spread on pancakes.
You can start assembling the pancake cake. Spread the pancake on a flat surface and brush the entire surface with a thin layer of herring filling.
Top with another pancake. Thus, grease all the pancakes, as long as the filling is enough. Do not put the filling on the top pancake. It took me 10 pancakes for the cake and one pancake left for decoration.
Trim the edges of the pancake cake. Place the snack cake in the refrigerator for soaking for 30 minutes
Delicious appetizer pancake cake with herring pate is ready. Roll the remaining pancake into a roll and cut into 2 cm pieces. Decorate the cake with pancake rolls and fresh parsley (or to your liking).
