Snack Tortillas with Cheese

We will cook two snack cakes – with tomatoes and cheese and with apples and cheese. An interesting dough recipe. Semolina, apples and tomatoes – fantastic delicious! The dough is “spongy”, fluffy cakes. Filled apples with cheese became a delicious discovery for me! Well, tomatoes with oregano are a separate “song”!

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Flour – 400 g + for sprinkling the mold
  • Semolina – 200 g
  • Milk (warm) – 440 ml
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp + to work with dough
  • Dry yeast – 2 teaspoon
  • Salt – 2 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 3 teaspoon

For filling:

  • Tomatoes – 4-5 pcs.
  • Apples – 2 pcs.
  • Cheese – 240 g
  • Oregano
  • Dried paprika flakes
  • Olive oil

Directions

  1. We activate dry yeast – make a quick dough. Add sugar, yeast and a couple of tablespoons of flour to warm milk. Mix and let stand for 5-7 minutes (a “cap” should form).
  2. In a convenient (large) cup, mix together salt, flour and semolina.
  3. Add vegetable oil and dough to this.
  4. We knead the dough. The dough will be sticky, but do not clog it with flour (do not add excess flour). Cover the dough with foil and let rise for 45 minutes.
  5. The dough works well. Knead and divide into two parts (grease your hands with vegetable oil, it will be easier to work with the dough).
    We form a cake with a thickness of less than 1 cm and put it on the bottom of a split form (24 cm), dusty with flour.
  6. Sprinkle lightly on top with olive oil and arrange the sliced ​​tomatoes in a circle.
    I have several different colored cherry varieties. I first lay out green-fruited tomatoes, then alternate round and oblong cherry tomatoes, and decorate the middle with yellow cherry blossoms. It turns out very appetizing!
  7. Sprinkle with oregano. Do not forget to sprinkle the tomatoes with a pinch of coarse sea salt.
  8. Sprinkle generously with grated cheese on top.
  9. Put apples, peeled and cut into slices, on another cake.
  10. Add the apples generously, sprinkle with paprika flakes and cheese on top.
    We bake yeast cakes with apples and tomatoes in a preheated oven at a temperature of 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
  11. Let the finished cakes cool slightly (preferably on a wire rack) and cut.
  12. The snack cakes with cheese turned out great! It is easy to prepare, the dough is delicious, the filling is gorgeous!
