Ingredients

  • 500 g potato (s)
  • some flour
  • 2 egg (s)
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 1 cup cream
  • some Milk

Instructions

  1. Boil and mash the potatoes. Stir the 2 eggs into the potato mixture. So much flour that the dough no longer sticks. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  2. Grease a baking dish well. Shape the dough into finger-thick rolls. Layer into the mold with a finger-width gap. Lay the second layer exactly 90 degrees apart so that a grid is created. (There will be about 3 layers)
  3. Then pour the cream over it and fill up with enough milk that the first layer is well covered.
  4. Bake at 180 ° C for approx. 40 minutes.
  5. During the baking time I always scoop some cream milk over the top layer to create a nice crust. The cream milk must be completely gone at the end.
  6. We always eat sauerkraut and smoked pork with it.
  7. You can also prepare the whole thing with sugar instead of salt and then eat it with applesauce or compote. Tastes very tasty too!
