Ingredients

  • 1 kg sour cherries, fresh
  • 300 g suar, brown
  • 300 g rock suar, white
  • 250 g suar, white
  • 1 vanilla pod (s)
  • 2 bottles double grain, 0.7 liters each

Instructions

  1. Wash the cherries. Stone 30 cherries, the rest keep their stones. Collect all cherries in a 3 liter jar. Squeeze the cherries three or four times with your fingers, but do not crush them completely. Crack the approx. 30 cherry stones in a mortar and add to the cherries. Add the three different types of sugar. Here you can try, we liked the given mixture best. Divide the vanilla pod and add it to the sugar. Finally, add the two bottles of grain (also works with vodka or other light schnapps).
  2. Close the jar and turn it a few times and mix the contents well.
  3. Leave the top in the kitchen for five days and turn the container twice a day and shake a little. Then put the vessel in the cellar and let the liqueur steep for five weeks.
  4. After five weeks, filter, fill and enjoy everything.
