Instructions

  1. Mix butter (or margarine), 175g sugar and vanilla sugar until creamy. Then add eggs one at a time. Mix flour and baking powder and stir in alternately with 100ml.
  2. Grease the baking sheet and then spread the dough on it and bake at 175 ° C for 20-25 minutes.
  3. Drain the cherries and collect the juice. Measure out 1/2 liter of juice and mix 5 tablespoons of it with cornstarch, boil the rest of the half liter, 2 tablespoons of sugar and lemon zest. Bind with the cornstarch. Then fold in cherries.
  4. Mix the custard powder and 60g sugar in 100ml milk and bring the rest of the milk to the boil (800ml). Stir in the pudding and briefly bring to the boil again.
  5. Spread the compote and pudding in strips on the cake.
  6. Chill for approx. 4 hours.
  7. If necessary, decorate the individual pieces with whipped cream (1 cup). But it doesn`t have to - it already looks great.
