Ingredients

  • 100 g rice cakes, unsalted
  • 400 ml cold water
  • 1 large onion (s), red
  • 4 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon, heaped parsley
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 2 tablespoon breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper
  • paprika
  • cumin
  • coriander
  • Clarified butter

Instructions

  1. Crumble the rice cakes, pour the water over them and let them soak for 10 minutes. Then mix in the finely diced onion, tomato paste and the spices. Salt and pepper can be used generously.
  2. Let the mixture stand for 2-3 hours (or overnight) and then stir in the parsley, egg and breadcrumbs, season if necessary. Shape 8 meatballs and fry them in clarified butter or oil until they are nice and brown.
  3. Tastes great as a burger patty or just with mustard.
