Sprat Sandwiches

Sprat sandwiches fly off the table first. The very simple preparation process makes this appetizer quite common and loved by many. Sandwiches with sprats, eggs, and cucumbers are perfect for any occasion – for a holiday or just sit with your family over a cup of tea.

Cook: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • White loaf – 3 slices
  • Canned sprats in oil – 6 pcs.
  • Egg (boiled) – 1 pc.
  • Fresh cucumber – 1 pc.
  • Mayonnaise – 2 tbsp
  • Lettuce leaves – for decoration
  • Salt (optional) – to taste
  • Ground black pepper (optional) – to taste

Directions

  1. Cut the loaf into two halves.
  2. Dry the loaf either in a toaster or in the oven. The loaf can also be fried in a lightly oiled skillet.
    Put lettuce leaves on a dish, and on them – ruddy pieces of the loaf.
  3. Brush the bread with mayonnaise.
  4. Peel and grate the egg with fine shavings.
  5. Cut the cucumber into thin slices.
  6. Put eggs on each piece of loaf.
  7. Place one fish on top of each sandwich.
  8. Put the cucumber slices on skewers, then insert each skewer into the sprats, holding the fish and bread together.
