Ingredients

For the shortcrust pastry:

  • 150 g wheat flour
  • 75 grams sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 teaspoon, leveled baking powder
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch (s) salt

For the filling:

  • 125 g butter
  • 125 g suar
  • 250 g quark 20%
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 100 g cream cheese
  • 0.5 ½ pack vanilla pudding powder
  • 0.5 ½ lemon (organic), juice and grated zest it

For covering:

  • 500 g strawberries
  • 25 g suar
  • 1 pack cake icing, red
  • 250 ml liquid (half water, half apple juice)

Instructions

  1. Grease a baking sheet (springform pan) measuring 24 cm x 24 cm.
  2. For the kneading dough, mix the flour and baking powder and sift into a bowl. Add sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and butter and quickly knead everything into a dough. If the dough sticks, wrap in foil and refrigerate for a while.
  3. Put the dough in the springform pan and press it flat. Preheat the oven (top / bottom heat 180 ° C, convection 160 ° C).
  4. For the topping, stir the butter with the hand mixer until smooth. Stir in sugar and eggs. Add the cream cheese, cottage cheese, custard powder, lemon juice and zest. Mix the ingredients into a smooth mass. Spread the quark mixture on the dough and put the springform pan in the stove. Bake the cake for 35-40 minutes. Then put it on a cake rack and let it cool down.
  5. For the topping, cut the strawberries in half and place the strawberry halves on the cake. Prepare an icing from the cake icing powder, sugar, water and apple juice according to the instructions on the packet and distribute it on the strawberries. Let the casting solidify.
  6. The cake can be baked a day in advance and only topped with the strawberries before it is to be served.
