Ingredients

  • 500 g minced meat (beef), alternatively also mixed
  • 1 roll, stale
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 1 teaspoon herbs Provence
  • 200 g cheese (Gouda) in one piece
  • 1 kg potato (s), waxy
  • 250 ml cream
  • nutmeg
  • salt
  • Pepper, black

Instructions

  1. Soak the roll in water, squeeze it out well and mix it with the minced meat and egg. Season the meat dough well with nutmeg, pepper and salt and season to taste. Cut the cheese into thick bars and place in the center of the meat. Shape into a flat, elongated loaf and enclose the cheese with the meat dough. Put in a buttered baking dish and sprinkle with herbs.
  2. Pre-cook the potatoes with their skin on, peel and cut into thin slices, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and layer around the meatloaf. Pour the cream over the potatoes.
  3. Fry in a preheated oven at 200 ° C for approx. 60 minutes.
  4. Peas and roots, green beans or broccoli go well with it.
