Ingredients

  • 12 small bell peppers, green
  • 0.5 kg ½ minced beef
  • 2 onions)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 0.5 ½ bunch parsley
  • 0.5 ½ bunch dill
  • 100 g rice, uncooked
  • 3 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 200 g cream

Instructions

  1. Cut off the lid of the peppers (you can get them in Turkish shops or at the market), remove the core and wash. Salt lightly inside.
  2. Knead all ingredients from minced meat to dill and mix with the UNCOOKED rice to taste. Fill into the pods - put upright in a saucepan (it is best to try before filling which saucepan they fit best without falling over), fill up to half of the peppers with salted water and cook for approx. until the rice is done.
  3. Take out the pods and stir in the tomato paste into the cooking stock, stir in the cornstarch and cream until smooth and thicken the sauce with it. Flatbread and baguette go well with this.
  4. The filling can also be used to prepare tomatoes, zucchini and eggplant.
