Sweet Peppers Stuffed with Feta Cheese

In Bulgaria there are many recipes for making sweet peppers – baked, fried, stuffed, pickled. Preserves and jams are made from sweet peppers. We offer you a quick recipe for Bulgarian cuisine – peppers stuffed with feta cheese, herbs, and eggs. Delicate creamy taste, combined with the juiciness and aroma of sweet pepper, makes this dish special and healthy.

Ingredients

  • Sweet pepper, not large – 500 g
  • Unsalted cheese (or cottage cheese) – 400 g
  • Eggs – 4 pcs.
  • Fresh parsley – 5 g
  • Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon.
  • Flour – 2 tbsp
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp

Directions

  1. Mash the cheese into small pieces. Add sugar, ground pepper, eggs to the cheese, mix.
  2. Add chopped parsley and stir.
  3. Peel the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
  4. Fill the pepper with the prepared cheese filling and pour 1 teaspoon without a hill of flour on top, gently smooth the flour over the filling surface.
    Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and pour over the olive oil.
  5. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C and bake the bell pepper stuffed with feta cheese and herbs for 20 minutes at 200 ° C.
  6. Baked sweet peppers stuffed with feta cheese are ready! Stuffed peppers can be served with garlic sauce or sour cream.
