Ingredients

  • 1 thick sweet potato (s)
  • 2 large potatoes or 1 sweet potato in addition
  • 250 ml cream
  • 150 ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable stock (best homemade)
  • 100 g cheese (e.. medieval Gouda), rated
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and potatoes (you can also make the gratin with just sweet potatoes) and cut into thin slices. Bring to the boil with cream, milk, salt, pepper, vegetable stock, freshly grated nutmeg and a pinch of paprika powder. Depending on the thickness of the potato slices, let simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Simply put everything in a small baking dish, cover with the cheese and put in the preheated oven at 200 ° C (top / bottom heat). Baked for about 20 minutes until the cheese looks golden brown and crispy.
  3. The whole thing doesn`t look quite as beautiful as when you arrange the raw potato slices in rows and links in the casserole dish and put them in the oven with the sauce, but you save yourself these disappointing moments if you take out the gratin after waiting forever the potatoes are still raw and it tastes at least as good.
