Ingredients

  • 500 g wheat flour, type 1050
  • 40 g yeast
  • 30 g honey
  • 275 ml water, lukewarm
  • 10 g salt
  • 10 g oil

Instructions

  1. Put the flour with the salt in a bowl and make a well. Dissolve yeast and honey in water, pour into the well, mix with part of the flour to form a soft pre-dough and cover and let rise for approx. 15 minutes.
  2. Add the oil and knead with the dough hook of the mixer on the highest setting for about 3 minutes until the dough loosens from the bowl. Cover and let rise for 10 minutes. Knead the dough again, then shape it into an approx. 50 cm long roll that tapers on one side; roll from the thick end into a snail.
  3. Place on a greased baking sheet and flour. Leave to rise in a warm place for 20-25 minutes, uncovered. Preheat the oven to 250 °. Put the bread on the middle rack, switch down to 180 ° after 10 minutes and bake the bread for another 40 minutes.
