Ingredients

  • 750 g onion (s), cut into 3 mm thick rins
  • 2 tablespoon butter or clarified butter
  • 1 pinch (s) thyme, amount to taste
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon verjuice or lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 250 ml white wine, dry
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Slowly fry the onion rings in the butter until golden. Season with pepper & salt, sugar, thyme and lemon juice.
  2. Sprinkle flour over it and sweat briefly. Pour white wine on top and let the lid simmer slowly for about 20 minutes. Serve immediately sprinkled with chopped parsley.
  3. Ideal with meat loaf, meatballs or lamb
