Ingredients

  • 1 liter water
  • 8 teaspoons, heaped tea (Thai tea), ground
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ice cubes
  • lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Make a strong tea from 1 liter of water and about 8 heaped teaspoons of Thai tea mixture, let it steep for 4 - 5 minutes. Add the sugar, if necessary the amount can be varied or replaced with sweetener.
  2. Fill a tall jug with a capacity of 2 liters a little more than halfway with ice cubes, pour the hot tea over the ice cubes and stir well. If desired, add lemon juice (from the bottle so that the tea does not become cloudy).
  3. The amount achieved corresponds to about 2 liters of tea, it is already ice cold and can be enjoyed immediately. The special thing is the slightly smoky taste and the wonderful orange color.
  4. In Thailand people like to vary their tea with condensed milk instead of lemon, that is a matter of taste.
