Tofu Chili

Ingredients

  • Tofu – 200 Grams
  • Chili pepper – 1 Piece
  • Corn starch – 1.5 Teaspoons
  • Water – 3 Art. spoons
  • Soy sauce – 1 Tbsp. the spoon
  • Tomato paste – 1 tablespoon the spoon
  • Cherry tomatoes – 4-5 Pieces
  • Garlic – 2-3 Cloves
  • Ginger – 10 Grams
  • Vegetable oil – 200 Milliliters (for frying)
  • Spinach – 20 Grams

Directions

  1. Prepare all ingredients.
  2. Cut the tofu into medium-sized cubes. If the tofu gives off a lot of liquid, blot it with paper towels.
  3. Mix 1 teaspoon. starch with 2 tablespoon. water.
  4. Dip tofu in this mixture.
  5. Heat a skillet with oil over medium heat. Fry the tofu in oil until golden brown. Then place the tofu on a paper towel.
  6. Drain off the oil, leaving only a little at the bottom. Chop the ginger and garlic finely. Saute a little, then add the chili peppers, tomato paste and tomatoes. Cook for a couple of minutes until tender.
  7. Wash the spinach, dry and tear with your hands. Add it to vegetables and simmer for a minute until soft.
  8. Then add tofu, soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon. starch diluted with 1 tablespoon. water. Stir, simmer everything together until the sauce thickens.
