Bright and funny “Santa Clauses” will delight both adults and children who have gathered at the New Year’s table. An appetizer of tomatoes stuffed with cheese, garlic and mayonnaise is prepared in just a few minutes, and you can easily serve a simple appetizer on the festive table.
Cook: 10 mins
Servings: 3
Ingredients
Tomatoes, medium size – 3 pcs.
Hard cheese – 150 g
Garlic (optional) – 2 cloves (to taste)
Mayonnaise – 2 tbsp
Black peppercorns – 6 pcs.
Red peppercorns (or pomegranate seeds) – 3 pcs.
Salt (optional) – to taste
Directions
Prepare the required ingredients.
Turn the tomatoes over so that they are firmly positioned on the plate, and cut off the “lids” from them.
Using a teaspoon, carefully remove the pulp from the tomatoes to form “kegs”.
Grate the cheese on a fine grater.
If adults eat the snack, press peeled cloves of garlic into cheese. Do not put garlic in a snack for children. Add 1 tablespoon. a spoonful of mayonnaise and mix the cheese with garlic and mayonnaise.
Fill the tomato “kegs” with the cheese filling. Try to fill the tomatoes with a slide.
Carefully cut the triangular pieces out of the tomatoes (see photo). This is done to keep the mayonnaise “beards” on the appetizer – without this, the mayonnaise will flow over the smooth tomato skin. Cover the stuffed cheese with the cut caps.
Draw the remaining mayonnaise on the Santa Claus beards. Make them “faces” – insert two black peppercorns and red peppercorns (or one pomegranate seed).
A New Year’s snack of tomatoes stuffed with cheese, garlic, and mayonnaise is best served immediately to the festive table.
