Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice (Turkish)
  • 2 tablespoon margarine
  • 2 tablespoon noodles, (rice noodles)
  • 5 tablespoon oil, (sunflower or vegetable oil)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 piece (s) sugar cubes

Instructions

  1. First of all, the rice must be carefully washed.
  2. To do this, put the rice in a bowl / measuring cup and fill up with boiling water. Now leave the rice in the water for at least 45 minutes, then put the rice in a sieve and wash again under running water until the water is clear.
  3. Heat the margarine in a deep pan and fry the rice noodles in it until they are brown. Now add the rice and the oil and lightly fry the rice, stirring constantly, until it is slightly translucent.
  4. Add 2 cups of boiling water, mix in lump sugar and salt and cover the pan with a lid. As soon as the water boils, turn the temperature down and let the rice simmer at a low temperature for about 15 minutes.
  5. Take the pan off the hob, cover the rice with a tea towel / kitchen towel, put the lid on and let it stand for a few minutes, done!
