Instructions

  1. Thoroughly scrub the turnips under cold water with a stiff brush. Cut off the stem and root end, peel the beets and cut into 1 cm cubes. Put the cubes in a saucepan with enough salted water to cover and bring to the boil, turn the flame down and simmer for 10 minutes, until they are slightly tender but not fully cooked. Drain well.
  2. Peel the apples, remove the core and cut them into 1-cm cubes. Heat the oil in a large pan. As soon as the oil shimmers and almost smokes, add the beets, apples and onion rings to the pan, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and brown for 8 to 10 minutes, turning them frequently. Goes well with turkey or pork.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
