Two-Color Kefir Jelly with Cocoa

by Editorial Staff

Even kefir can be used to make a wonderful dessert for every day and for a holiday. Kefir jelly with cocoa is prepared from the most affordable and inexpensive products and turns out to be very tender and tasty. It can be prepared in one form or in portioned glasses, molds, or bowls.

Two-Color Kefir Jelly with Cocoa Instructions

  1. Pour gelatin into a deep plate, pour cold boiled water (75 ml). Stir. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes to swell the gelatin.
  2. Meanwhile, pour the kefir into a deep bowl. Add sugar. At this step, you can add a pinch of vanillin or a spoonful of vanilla sugar. Stir with a whisk until the sugar grains are dissolved. Taste it. If there is little sweetness, add some more sugar.
  3. Heat gelatin in the microwave at maximum power (in my case 800 W) in small pulses for 5-8 seconds until it is completely dissolved. Stir well with a spoon after each heating.
(If there is no microwave, then melt the gelatin in a water bath.)
  4. Pour the loose gelatin into kefir. Mix thoroughly until evenly distributed.

  5. Divide the kefir mass into two halves. Pour cocoa powder into one part. Mix well so that there are no lumps.
Two-Color Kefir Jelly with Cocoa step 5
  6. For shaping, I used a small silicone cupcake mold. Pour chocolate or white mass at the bottom. Refrigerate for 5-7 minutes for the first layer to set slightly.
  7. Remove from refrigerator and add a second layer of a different color. Send it to the refrigerator for 2-3 hours until it solidifies.
  8. Two-color kefir jelly with cocoa is ready! If desired, you can decorate the top with chopped nuts, sprinkle with powdered sugar. I didn’t decorate, the dessert already has an attractive appearance.

Enjoy your meal!
