Ingredients

  • 200 g chocolate, dark
  • 250 g butter
  • 6 egg (s)
  • 200 g suar
  • 200 g walnuts, round
  • 100 grams flour
  • 0.75 teaspoon ¾ clove powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cardamom, ground
  • 200 g jelly (quince)
  • 200 g couverture
  • 80 g walnuts, halved, for arnish

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the dark chocolate over a water bath, then let it cool down a little.
  2. Beat the butter with a hand mixer until frothy. Separate the eggs. Add the egg yolk, sugar and the dissolved chocolate to the butter and stir well. Beat the egg whites until stiff and add to the chocolate mixture alternately with the sifted flour, walnuts and the spices. Place the dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle shelf at 170 ° C for approx. 25 minutes.
  4. Spread quince jelly on the cake plate, which is still warm. Dissolve the cake icing and spread it on the cake plate as well. Mark the squares with a sharp knife and place a walnut half in the middle. Cut the cooled cake platter into squares and serve.
