Ingredients

  • 500 g pork or beef, e.. steak or cutlet
  • 10 tablespoon oil, e.g. olive oil or sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoon whiskey, e.g. bourbon from Tennessee
  • 1 tablespoon mustard, coarse, heat as desired
  • 1 tablespoon mango chutney or plum chutney
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • pepper
  • Five-spice powder

Instructions

  1. Mix together the cooking oil, whiskey and soy sauce, then stir in the honey, mustard and chutney until you have a homogeneous sauce. Make sure that the mustard, honey and chutney have mixed well with the liquid ingredients and that small lumps have formed. Finally add the pepper and the 5-spice powder and stir vigorously again.
  2. Now you put the meat in a sealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Then shake the bag briefly, knead the meat lightly until it is completely covered in the marinade.
  3. The meat should rest in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours until it is fried or grilled, depending on your preference.

  5. Before grilling, dab the meat with a kitchen roll to prevent the liquid from dripping into the embers.
