Ingredients

  • 250 g date (s)
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange (s), grated zest
  • 1 tablespoon amaretto
  • 2 tablespoon almond (s), chopped

Instructions

  1. Halve each date lengthwise without cutting completely through, leaving the halves slightly attached. Remove the pit from the center.
  2. Toast the chopped almonds in a pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, orange juice, orange zest, and amaretto until smooth and well combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle. Pipe a generous amount of filling into the cavity of each date.
  5. Refrigerate the filled dates for at least 30 minutes until the filling is firm.
  6. Just before serving, sprinkle the toasted almonds over the dates.
