Ingredients

  • 250 g flour
  • 15 g yeast, fresh
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 100 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 25 g butter
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 pinch (s) cinnamon
  • 1 packet custard powder, vanilla
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 0.5 liter ½ apple cider

Instructions

  1. Dumplings:
  2. Sieve the flour into a bowl, make a well in the middle, crumble the yeast into it, add sugar and mix with a little milk to make the pre-dough and leave to rise covered.
  3. Add egg, butter, salt and remaining milk, knead with a little flour if necessary. Then let it go again.
  4. Bring plenty of salted water to the boil. Mix a tablespoon of sugar with a little cinnamon.
  5. Form 4 dumplings out of the dough with floured hands, add 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon-sugar mixture to each of the dumplings, shape into beautiful balls and let rise again.
  6. Place the dumplings in the boiling water, cover with the lid and simmer for approx. 8-10 minutes, do not boil! to let. Do not remove the cover while doing this.
  7. You can also take a large saucepan with a steamer insert and steam the dumplings.
  8. Sauce:
  9. Mix 6 tablespoon apple cider with 1 tablespoon sugar and the pudding powder. Put 2 tablespoons of sugar in a saucepan, bring the rest of the apple cider to the boil, after boiling stir in the pudding-sugar mixture, set aside until the dumplings are ready.
