Ingredients

  • 1 kg potato (s), waxy cut into slices
  • 1 ½ kg beefsteak tomato (s) or bottle tomatoes, sliced
  • 4 bell pepper (s), (different colors) cut into strips
  • 1 kg onion (s) (vegetable onions) cut into strips
  • 2 packs seafood, frozen Frutti-di-Mare (also works with fresh goods, course)
  • 2 squid (s) (tubes), cut into rings
  • Mussel (s), crabs, scampis, king prawns depending on taste and budget: :))
  • 1 glass white wine
  • 1 glass olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, possibly chili`s to taste
  • parsley

Instructions

  1. Layer all ingredients one after the other in a large saucepan until all ingredients are used up - important: start with a layer of tomatoes! Salt and pepper the individual vegetable layers.
  2. Finally, pour in 1 glass of white wine and 1 glass of olive oil.
  3. Bring it to the boil once, then let it simmer on a very low heat for at least 2-3 hours (1-2 hours longer doesn`t do any harm).
  4. This rustic stew is a big hit at every party. Particularly delicious with fresh baguette and, if you like it spicy, with freshly ground dried chili peppers. Tastes even better the next day.
  5. Incidentally, an absolutely original recipe from our old neighbor from Madeira.
