Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 3 tablespoon, heaped flour
  • 1 ½ tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 20 g butter or mararine
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cinnamon
  • 0.5 ½ pack vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ lemon peel, grated, optional
  • some powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Peel the apple if necessary, this is not absolutely necessary, and rub it on a coarse grater. Add all other ingredients, mix together and let soak for 5 minutes. If you like, you can also add half a teaspoon of grated lemon zest to the batter.
  2. Bake the batter in a waffle iron until golden brown. Let the finished waffles cool on a rack and dust with a little icing sugar. The batter makes 4 waffles.
