Instructions

  1. Combine the apple juice, sugar, and cinnamon sticks in a saucepan.
  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves (7-10 minutes).
  3. Pour the mixture into a clean vessel.
  4. Add the rum and apples (if using), ensuring all ingredients are covered with liquid.
  5. Cover and let stand at room temperature for 7 days.
  6. Strain through a fine sieve.
  7. Bottle the liqueur.
