Ingredients
For the ground:
- 220 g flour
- 50 grams sugar
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 pinch (s) salt
- 70 g butter
- 1 large egg (s)
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon water, (cold)
For the filling:
- 900 g apples, (Golden Delicious)
- 100 g suar
- 50 g butter
- 2 tablespoon flour
- 50 grams sugar
- 3 large egg (s)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 180 g sour cream
For the sprinkles:
- 185 g flour
- 100 g suar
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon ½ cinnamon, ground
- 115 g butter, melted

- For the base, put the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a bowl and mix. Add the butter in pieces and knead in. Then add the egg, egg yolk and water and work into a smooth shortcrust pastry. Roll it out on a lightly floured work surface. To the size of a 24 cm pie form, so that the edge is also lined with it. Cover the mold with foil and place in the refrigerator.
- For the filling, peel, halve, quarter and core the apples. Cut the apple quarters into thin slices from the narrow side. Put these in a saucepan, mix with the 100 g sugar and butter and bring to the boil. Simmer for about 5-7 minutes. If not all of the liquid has evaporated, pour it off. Put the apples in a bowl and set aside.
- Now preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- In a second bowl, use the whisk to mix and stir the flour, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract and sour cream. Pour this mixture over the apples and stir with a spoon. Set aside for a moment and make the crumble.
- To do this, melt the butter, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon, add the melted butter and work into crumble.
- Now you fill the apple mixture on the prepared base, smooth it out and distribute the crumble evenly on top. Start from the edge inwards.
- The apple pie is then baked in the preheated oven for 50-55 minutes. It should have a golden brown border. Remove and leave to cool completely in the tin on a wire rack.
