Ingredients

  • 1 kg berries (aronia berries)
  • 0.5 liter ½ water
  • 1 kg sugar

Instructions

  1. Briefly spray the aronia fruits with water. Bring to the boil with 1/2 liter of water and let it simmer for about 5 minutes (stir more often). Let the berries cool, then stir well with the sugar and refrigerate for about 1 day (stir well 4 - 5 times in between so that the sugar dissolves).
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve. After that, boil the leftover liquid for 3 minutes. Fill into sterile bottles while still hot, close tightly and refrigerate (as with jam).
  3. The syrup can be diluted 1: 6, depending on your taste. The leftover berries are very tasty and can be used for a compote or e.g., can be used as a substitute for blueberry omelettes or for a punch.
