Ingredients

  • 500 g barberries, ripe / sour thorn
  • 1 stick (s) vanilla pod (s)
  • 700 ml rum, white or vodka with at least 40% alcohol.
  • 200 g suar

Instructions

  1. Remove stalks from the barberries, wash thoroughly, and drain completely.
  2. Place the barberries in a clean glass jar.
  3. Add the sugar and pour the rum or vodka over the berries.
  4. Split the vanilla pod open lengthwise and place it in the jar.
  5. Seal the jar tightly and place it in a light location.
  6. Shake the jar daily until all sugar is completely dissolved.
  7. Continue infusing for a total of 3 months from when you sealed the jar.
  8. Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove all solids.
  9. Pour the strained liqueur into clean bottles and seal tightly.
