Ingredients
- 800 g white cabbae (about 1/2 small halved head)
- 60 g ham, diced
- 30 g clarified butter
- 0.25 liter ¼ vegetable broth or beef broth
- 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon, heaped caraway seeds
- 1 dash sweetener, liquid
- salt

- For this Bavarian herb, half a head of white cabbage is cut into fine strips.
- Heat the clarified butter in a casserole and fry the ham cubes in it. Now add the white cabbage strips and stew briefly. Sweeten with a little liquid sweetener, then pour in the vegetable stock and add the white wine vinegar. Now sprinkle the caraway seeds over the Bavarian cabbage and put a lid on. Braise for about 20 minutes at a medium temperature. When the herb is through, remove the lid and continue to simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes until the liquid has evaporated. Don`t forget to stir. Season to taste with a little salt.
- We serve either a smoked pork roast or pork roast.
