Instructions

  1. Cook the potatoes, mix with milk, butter, salt and nutmeg to make a puree.
  2. Fry the bacon cubes for 5 minutes over a medium heat until crispy, add the boiled ham, stir briefly, then add the sliced endive salad and fry / braise until just a little bit cooked. It only takes a few minutes.
  3. Mix the salad / bacon mixture with the mustard, creme fraiche, cheese and spices, mix in the mashed potatoes.
  4. To serve, bake in the oven and heat well (cover if necessary). Season well with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  5. This is a very substantial meal, as the Belgians (at least in the Flemish part) love it.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
