- 700 g suar, brown
- 6 orange (s)
- 4 lemon (s)
- Carnation
- 0.5 liter ½ rum, 80%
- 0.25 liter ¼ orange liqueur, e.g., Cointreau

- Bring the sugar with the juice and the zest of the oranges and lemons to the boil with 1/4 liter of water and the cloves. Let cool down.
- Add the rum and orange liqueur, fill into bottles and store in a dark place.
- To use: Pour approx. 2 cl of this essence into a large cup of black tea.
