Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cube yeast, fresh
  • 125 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 125 ml water, lukewarm
  • 200 g bacon, mixed, diced
  • 2 medium onion (s), diced into small pieces
  • Milk, for brushing
  • Sesame and caraway seeds, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Leave the bacon in a pan, add the onion and sauté. Allow to cool slightly.
  2. Mix the flour with salt in a bowl. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm milk and add to the flour with the water. Knead everything into a smooth dough. Knead in the bacon and onion.
  3. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and form rolls with floured hands. Place them next to each other like a sun. Let rise for another 30 minutes. Brush with milk and alternately sprinkle with sesame and caraway seeds.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven (fan oven 160 degrees, electric 180 degrees) for 30 minutes.
  6. You can of course shape a large sun. But I think smaller ones are nicer. 1 roll in the middle, 5 rolls around it.
  7. Can also be frozen very well, so that I always have some on hand. They look good at a party buffet, but also taste good with herbal quark with a glass of wine.
