Ingredients

  • 250 g beef

  • 125 ml red wine
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Dice the beef and pork; peel and dice the 2 onions; wash, clean and dice the soup vegetables.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoon lard in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Sear the meat cubes on all sides until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the onion and vegetable cubes, braise for 2 minutes, then add salt, pepper, 1 teaspoon grated horseradish, 125 ml red wine, and 1 bay leaf.
  4. Cover and cook over medium heat for 45-60 minutes until the pork reaches 63°C (145°F).
  5. Mix in 1 teaspoon cornstarch to thicken the sauce.
  6. Serve with boiled potatoes.
